Taapsee Pannu to play Rishi Kapoor’s daughter-in-law in Anubbhav Sinha’s Mulk

Mulk is set to go on floors in a couple of months, and will be shot in Lucknow and Varanasi.

Taapse Pannu is the next rising star in India. Just this year, she has had a release with Akshay Kumar – Naam Shabana. Now, while she is busy wrapping up the final stretch of Judwaa 2 with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez, we already have the name of another project of hers to look forward too. The actress has been roped in to play the lead role in Anubhav Sinha’s next. Anubhav is popular for making films with high-octane action sequences like Ra.One, and he is also famous for emotional dramas like Tum Bin. And this next film is a going to be a mix of both genres.

Anubhav’s next is titled Mulk, which means country in Urdu. The movie stars Rishi Kapoor in the lead role and he will be playing Taapsee’s father-in-law in the film. And there has been no announcement of a male lead opposite Taapsee yet. Mulk is said to be a social thriller based on a true story and will talk about a joint family that is involved in a controversy and how Taapsee’s character helps the family reclaim their honour. The plot of the film sure looks interesting and seems like after Naam Shabana, once again Taapsee will have a film riding on her shoulders. She has shown us her acting prowess in Pink, and we are certain that she will nail this one as well.

Mulk is set to go on floors in a couple of months, and will be shot in Lucknow and Varanasi.

Anubhav Sinha took to Twitter and shared the news about his next.

Well, Mulk is still far down in the movie calendar. As for now we should be looking forward to Taapsee starrer, Judwaa 2. The movie is in the last stretch of its shooting schedule. The cast and crew are currently in Mauritius to shoot for a song.
